Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Yesterday I went down to the Jimmy Kimmel Live show to watch my friends, The Duke Spirit, perform.
The green room had everything, catered food, open bar, pool table, video games...
I've really got to remember to bring my camera to things like these.

The always amazing Liela looked gorgeous in her custom made UNHEE elephant top and the way that fabric caught the light, fantastico!

Look at mop top Travis in the back! Like a fraggle rock-er.
If you look super closely, you can see the side of my head bobbing to the music.
As we were walking up and taking our place in the audience, I thought to myself, "Is it cheesy to stand right in front knowing I will be on camera"? and now watching the video, I TOTALLY wish I just hammed it up and stood up front. haha. Next time.

Funny story: Right before they performed, JImmy Kimmel went on stage and greeted each member and as he was walking off stage, I see him lean into Travis and say something.
Then they perform.
Later Travis told us that Jimmy said, "Don't fuck it up".
Ha!
Hilarious.

I am ringing in the new year with a cold.
Right now I am on my couch swaddled in down watching the Antiques Road Show. I love this show!
One of my goals in 2009 is to find a treasure.
Another goal of mine is to get a new camera, preferably a Leica, because my sony cybershot just isn't cutting it.
I think I would take more pictures if I had a better camera.
I'd like to also get more into accessories.

i totally get why girls in the 60s went all crazy and crying.
they are so fresh.
after "all i have to do is dream" they play
one of the best sounding songs of all time. "cathy's clown".
they are pretty much the best singing duo of ever. don everly's voice is so cool and he's a total wholesome babe like zac efron.
they are perfect.

but i think this john lenon version is the prettiest.

battle cat

i've never been much of a cat person, but this (video) is great.
actually, there is the coolest cat i've ever met in my whole life who lives next door to me.
i call her battlecat, and she is the coolest, man.
she let me pet her once.
i purchased greenies for cats treats so that anytime that i see her, i run back into my house and grab a couple and give them to her.

i also try and remember to take some dog treats when i take the dogs for a walk because just about every other house in my neighborhood has some crazy backyard dog that has never left their yard so they go ape shit anytime anyone walks past.

sometimes it works and sometimes it backfires and the dogs think i am attacking them and they go even crazier, but i'll win them over. i just realized that i may sound like a crazy person, but whatever. geez, whats next? a bag of bread crumbs at echo park lake?

as i was saying,
the coolest thing about battlecat is that i've given her treats twice, and once i fed her some tuna, oh and once i gave her some baby food i had left over from when nugget was sick, anyway, point being, thats probably 4 times in the past 6 months, so she's not one of those cats that you give some food to once and they are at your front step every day. that happened to me once in grade school and i learned my lesson. vagrants.
but not battle cat.
she/he's the best and so unimposing.

i LOVE halloween!

ok, i just got my computer up and running again, well i got a new one, so we're gonna have to work backwards, so the dates maybe all jumbled, but still all good.
if you know me, you know i LOVE Halloween and I wish it was 3 days every year instead of just one, but if you luck out and get it on a weekend, you can dress up all weekend!
This year I only had 2 costumes, well 1 1/2 because the old man on vacay, inspired by nick nolte, was just a try on test run.
i didn't get to present him in all his glory, complete with fake bushy eyebrows. Oh well, next year. It's always good to have a good costume on hand, just in case.

But for Halloween night proper Travis and I went to the Jackie Beat Gruesome Twosome show with Jer Ber Jones.


Trav was an organ grinder

and I was his monkey!


I wish I had a full body shot b/c I think this was the finest Halloween costume I have ever made.
I made everything from head to toe, and tail, except for the fez.

Travis made his costume as well. His organ box was amazing!
He also carved this awesome pumpkin!
