Meet Reggie:

He is a baby opossum.
I found him in my backyard the other day.
He must've fell off his momma.

Those chirping noises he's making is him calling out to him mom.
I met up with Mary, a 70 year old volunteer from the Opossum Society of the United States, in the Carrows parking lot in Higland Park and handed him off. She will take care of him until he is strong enough to be on his own.
I only had him for a day and a night.
He's so cute and before I found him I didn't think there was another animal that I thought was more disgusting than an opossum.
I miss Reggie and I kind of wish I still had him, just for a little while.
Here I put hot water and uncooked rice (to help retain the heat) in a water bottle for him. i might sound like a crazy person.

I went bonkers over this little guy. Did you know that opossums are North America's only marsupial?
Fascinating isn't it? I'm just sayin'.

teal and i took our bikes to the beach today
it being the saturday of a three day weekend, it was crazy day.
at least on the bike path
one guy on a recumbant bike rode past me yelling, "i love poooosy, BIG TITS! BIG TITS!".
then another guy walked by me and teal mumbling to himself, "hilbillies and mexicans... two things i can't stand".
he looked like black shrek with headphones on.
we saw the big tits guy all day on the path. he really gets around.
then i went to work and it got weird there too.
after we closed big steve started cuttin a rug to side two of born in the usa

with vip laminates and i got to see chris isaac's tighty whiteys hanging on a pants hanger but didn't have my camera. i also think that i almost walked in on the gold dust woman cuttin a duece.

she looked and sounded so beautiful. i love stevie.

then i had a really great dinner at casita del campo with drinks at the other side after and i felt super warm and loved and happy and laughed a lot.

then on my actual birthday travis and i rode our bikes on the beach to the redondo beach pier and smashed crabs. but first we opened presents and he got me that green dress i was harping about. yay! so pretty. and two books. r-e-a-d-a-b-o-O-K!

then he thought papi was being condescending to him and they got into it. those two, always arguing.

then, he flew away...:(

but all in all, really great birthday weekend.

speaking of birthdays... now i know it's that time of year and youre all scrambling to figure out what to get me, well, i'm always thinking of others soooo, at this little clothing store next to the downbeat cafe on alvarado is a teal green silk dress with a deep v and ruffled skirt made by vintage soul in a size 1 (small) which just happens to be the size i am and fits me perfect and i love it, i mean, i'm just saying...

ten more days!
6 weeks is a looooooong time.
my miss muscles are huge.
it's 4am and i just love procrastinating.
i was sick last week so i am majorly playing catch up
on my so late spring production.
that's what happens when you're a one woman show.
no back up sangers to take the heat when you're down.
oh well.
i still promise i will update this blog.
when i make the time to sift through eight thousand pictures.
i have so many pictures now all saved up.

and we went mountain biking up by folsom lake, near sacramento
and it was the most fun going through the woods on trails
only wide enough for bike tires

then we threw sticks and such into the lake and his dogs swam out and fetched
i also inherited a fine ukelele complete with REI style uke gig bag.
hilarious! my extreme sporty bro.
